Mentoplasty

Mentoplasty is a surgery that seeks to harmonize the facial profile by modifying the chin, either by increasing its projection with an implant or reducing its size by filing the mandibular bone. Generally, the implant is placed through an intraoral incision, avoiding visible scars.

Benefits:

  • Improves facial proportion.
  • Defines the jawline and neck.

Ideal candidates:

  • People over 18 years of age with small chin, submental flaccidity or double chin.

Procedure and recovery:

The implant, made of anatomic silicone, is inserted through an intraoral incision. It is an ambulatory surgery with general anesthesia.

The initial recovery lasts 3-5 days, with swelling reducing after 6 weeks.
